Well the 24th finally arrived and it was good news from the x-rays, so off came the external fixings. The job was very slow and painful but the mind is a great thing and I wanted the fixings off so much I think I could have taken any amount of pain...well you know what I mean...

Here is the x-ray which shows the screws and plate that will stay in the leg...
The removal of the fixings was done with great care and some great tools, not too differant from some of the tools we all have at home. The nurse removed the tools from a sealed bag and away he went. Normal spanner for the supports and a T-bar for the pins.The best bit of all, no pain killers.The bone is loose on the pins and they simply unscrew, it hurt a lot...

So whats next, lots of slow rehab.I've got a few weeks with no weight to be put on the leg and then upto 50% and so on... I'll let you know how it goes...
